MALE BREAST SURGERY
What is Male Breast Surgery?
Gynaecomastia Surgery, commonly known as Male Breast Surgery, is the surgical correction of over-developed breasts in men. The condition may be caused by hormonal changes, obesity, or the use of certain drugs. Gynaecomastia can appear as a rubbery or firm mass that starts from underneath the nipple and then spreads outwards over the breast area. It usually affects both breasts but often in different amounts so asymmetry occurs. Gynaecomastia Surgery can improve the appearance, shape and contour of the chest and can result in improved social confidence, a flatter, firmer chest and a better body image.
How is the surgery performed?
There are various techniques used for Gynaecomastia correction, including liposuction and mastectomy. The choice of technique is based on your body and the severity of the Gynaecomastia – it can be decided on at your consultation.
What can I expect?
